Polar Bear Grand Prix 2018/19

For the 15th year, River City Races has been producing a series of races this winter to keep you motivated to stay out runnin’ on the roads! The Polar Bear Grand Prix is three races in December, January and February. Enter all three here and the first 500 registrants receive a special, 15 year commemorative pair of running gloves!

To celebrate our 15th year, each race in the series is upping it's game on the race premium.  The Reindeer Romp will feature a long sleeve technical fabric running shirt, the Frostbite 5k will feature a long sleeve technical 1/4 zip running shirt and the Snowman Shuffle will feature a winter running hat.

Also this year, available for purchase, a 15th Anniversary commemorative Polar Bear Grand Prix running jacket!

Just In!  Introducing Polar Bear Cub Runs!  For the 8 and under crowd, each race will have it's own kid's run for those 8 and under when the grown-ups finish and each finisher will get their own prize plus a Polar Bear Cub Runs t-shirt!  Three races and the t-shirt for $20!

The Polar Bear Grand Prix is also scored on a points format based on finishes in each race with awards for the top three men and women overall, overall Male and Female Master and Grandmaster and awards in age groups, 9 and under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54,55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.

  • Reindeer Romp 4k: Saturday, December 8th, 9:00 a.m. at Hogan’s Fountain in Cherokee Park. The first 500 entrants will be guaranteed a Reindeer Romp, gender specific, long sleeve technical shirt. Those who register after the first 500 will receive a shirt on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Frostbite 5k: Saturday, January 12th, 9:00 a.m. at the Rugby Field in Cherokee Park. The first 500 entrants will be guaranteed a long sleeve 1/4 zip technical shirt so get your entry in early!  Those who register after the first 500 will receive a shirt on a first come, first serve basis.
  • Snowman Shuffle 4 Mile: Saturday, February 9th at 9:00 a.m. at Hogan’s Fountain in Cherokee Park.  The first 500 to register will get a moisture winter running hat. Those who register after the first 500 will receive a hat on a first come, first serve basis.
